Day One in Cuernavaca

We arrived in Cuernavaca today amongst a deluge of rain and thunder. Is this a sign?

The day started with a fabulous chartered bus trip to Chicago (thanks Bregers). Once at O'Hare, Cordelia ran "point" and got us at the head of the line to check-in. A few hours later we were on board our flight. A short 4 hours later we were landing in Mexico.

After going through Immigration we shuffled over to baggage claim. We were all fairly tired but in good spirits. At baggage claim the Piper's discovered that they were missing a bag. Zach was able to help negotiate the process with the baggage claim folks. We're hoping that Will's bag shows up tomorrow. In the mean time everyone has offered to loan Will a few things.

Everyone cleared customs without a hitch and after a waiting for the bus we were whisked through Mexico City traffic and ended up at the Diocesan Center.

We were greeted with open arms by Bishop DelGado, Brigette and Rodolfo. Our old friend Fredrico will be with us on Monday (maybe even tomorrow).

The Stoner's finally arrived around 9pm as they were delayed flying through Houston.

As we blog right now, everyone is playing cards, reading books and just hanging out.

It's good to be back with old and new friends. Tomorrow will be exciting with the day starting at the cathedral as Scott preaches the English service and the rest of us attending the Spanish service for Father's Day.

Bummer! Fielder must have really been trucking to hit an in-the-park. Hopefully the Crew will bounce back today. I did get my bags today. Aside from an exploding bottle of Febreez, all is well with the luggage. It was just amazing how people went out of their way to assist with lending me items. I never had to ask for anything and had multiple days of clean clothes awaiting me if the bag hadn't shown up. What a great group to be with. Bloomer, thanks for the update about the Brew Crew... keep 'em comin'. All the best to our blog readers in Milwaukee. ~Will
